At Derbyshire Community Bank, we are fortunate to work with talented and driven individuals who contribute significantly to our mission of supporting our members and community. One such individual is Qinwen Zhang, who recently completed her role as a Business Development Intern with us, serving from July 29th to September 5th, 2024.
Qinwen brought a high level of competence and enthusiasm to her internship, quickly becoming an invaluable member of our team. Her strong command of the English language facilitated clear and effective communication, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
Key Contributions and Achievements
During her time with us, Qinwen was involved in a variety of tasks that highlighted her analytical skills and attention to detail. One of her primary responsibilities involved exporting and organizing large amounts of data from archived files. She not only ensured that these files were formatted correctly and compliant with our internal rules but also created a more streamlined and accessible storage system.
Qinwen also demonstrated her ability to analyse and communicate complex information by preparing detailed reports for our members. These reports were presented to our CEO and board during monthly meetings.
Further contributing to her professional growth, Qinwen completed several e-learning modules from ABCUL’s Learning Academy. Her coursework covered essential topics such as Corporate Governance, Lending Policy, Risk Management, and Operational Risk. This knowledge equipped her with a deeper understanding of the credit union sector and enhanced her contributions to our team.
Research and Team Integration
In addition to her data management tasks, Qinwen undertook research to update our lending policies. She meticulously gathered and collated information on income and expenditure from reliable sources, which will be instrumental in supporting our ongoing social impact and member support initiatives.
Qinwen’s integration into our team was seamless. She actively participated in team meetings and even attended a conference on “Powerful Questions for Better Money Conversations,” where her insights were highly valued. Beyond her professional contributions, Qinwen enriched our workplace culture by sharing stories of her upbringing, allowing us to gain a deeper appreciation for her culture while also engaging with ours. Her positive attitude left a lasting impression on everyone, including our reception team, who were particularly impressed by her manner and spirit.
A Bright Future Ahead
As Qinwen Zhang moves forward in her career, we have no doubt that she will continue to excel and make meaningful contributions wherever she goes. Her time at Derbyshire Community Bank has proven her to be a dedicated, capable, and thoughtful individual. We are grateful for the time she spent with us and confident that she will achieve great success in the future.
We wish Qinwen all the best and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will undoubtedly have in her future roles.
